Designing, Production & Testing

RD&PE "Zvezda" organization structure was designed to perform scientific, technical and production tasks associated with the company's activities. "RD&ΠΕ Zvezda" is an integral complex comprising scientific research and test departments with a unique experimental base, design bureaus and production shops. The experimental base includes: thermal and vacuum chambers designed to run manned testing of the equipment, and train pilots and cosmonauts; centrifuge for physiologic researches and development testing of means to protect against linear accelerations; complex of aerodynamic test facilities designed to test pilot protection means (Vmax=1800km/h), in-flight refueling systems for aircraft, fire extinguishing systems for flying vehicle engines. All test facilities are equipped with modern systems to register and process experimental data.
