Protective equipment of the KKO-15 outfit
 |
together with the oxygen equipment and onboard air conditioning system provides for:
- oxygen supply to the pilot in the pressurized cabin at all flight altitudes in the following modes: "Mixture", «100% Î2», "Emergency";
- thermal comfort, pilot protection against overheating or overcooling in the ambient temperature range of ±50îÑ;
- anti-G protection up to 9 G;
- pilot protection against decompression in case of cabin depressurization (or at ejection) at the altitudes up to 20 km;
- pilot protection from the air flow (together with the seat of the K-36D type) during ejection at speeds up to 1300 km/h;
- oxygen supply to the pilot from the ejection seat oxygen system after ejection and during parachute descent;
- protection of pilot's respiratory organs from water penetration at ditching in case of ejection over water areas;
- pilot survival under adverse climatic conditions in case of emergency landing in uninhabited areas;
- protection against exposure to cold water during 12 hours provided the immersion outfit is used.
Depending on the flight conditions, the protective outfit may consist of the following items:
- crash helmet, oxygen mask and anti-G suit (for flights at altitudes up to 12 km);
- crash helmet, oxygen mask and partial pressure suit (for flights at altitudes up to 20 km);
- crash helmet, oxygen mask and altitude immersion outfit (for over-water flights at altitudes up to 20 km).

ÇØ-7ÀÏ crash helmet
The crash helmet includes the shell made of glass-reinforced resin, the visor, which automatically lowers before ejection, the adjustable shock-absorbing suspension, which provides for reliable restraint of the crash helmet on a pilot's head, and the radio communication means.
The target designation system can be mounted on the helmet.
The crash helmet is manufactured in two sizes.
ÊÌ-35Ì oxygen mask
The oxygen mask consists of a plastic structure, rubber face sealer, inhalation and exhalation valves, radio communication means, and a feed hose with a fabric restraint cover. The mask is secured to the crash helmet with a sliding bar-type retainer.
The mask is manufactured in four sizes.
ÏÏÊ-3Ð-120 anti-G suit
The ÏÏÊ-3Ð-120 anti-G suit consists of a restraint layer and a rubber bladder. The suit has a lacing system to adjust it by girths. The suit is manufactured in six sizes. |

 BKK-15K partial pressure suit
The BKK-15K partial pressure suit serves as:
- partial pressure and anti-G suit;
- ventilation suit;
- flying suit.
The suit consists of a one-piece garment and a protective jacket. Bladders of the tension and anti-G devices, the ventilation system are arranged on the one-piece garment.
The BKK-15K suit is manufactured in twelve sizes.
BMCK-4-15 altitude immersion outfit
The BMCK-4-15 outfit incorporates the following items:
- MK-4-15 immersion suit with the ÀÑÏ-74 floatation means;
- ÒÇÊ-2-15 thermal protection garment;
- BKK-15M partial pressure suit.
The MK-4-15 immersion suit protects a pilot against exposure to water. The suit consists of the restraint garment and waterproof enclosure. The immersion suit is sealed along the open-wide closure as follows. After donning the suit, the pilot folds together the edge of the appendix (the upper part of the enclosure is made of rubberized fabric in the shape of a sack) and winds a rubber cord around it. Also the immersion suit has rubber neck and wrist seals.
There are three ventilating air relief valves, hoses of the ventilation system, anti-G system and tension device.
The thermal protection garment protects a pilot against overcooling in cold water.
The BKK-15M design concept is similar to that of the BKK-15K suit except for the feeding hoses.
The BMCK-4-15 outfit is manufactured in 8 sizes.
