The KASHTAN Anti-Shock Suit was designed and developed by "RD&PE Zvezda" JSC together with the Moscow Scientific & Research Institute of First Aid named after N.V. Sklifosovsky.
For everybody who is the first to help victims.
The KASHTAN is designed for ambulances, rescue services, medical services of the Army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, road traffic safety service and firemen.
The KASHTAN is designed to save men injured in road accidents, combat operations (gunshot wounds) and acts of God. The KASHTAN anti-shock suit effect is similar to that of the pilot's anti-G suit. It covers the lower body from the hypochondrium to the ankles and provides redistribution of the blood flow to the vital organs. This is tantamount to infusion up to 1,5-2 liters of own warm blood just at the accident site and extends the precious time for rendering effective skilled medical treatment up to 6 hours and even more.
The Russian KASHTAN anti-shock suit ensures the patient with effective and comfortable immobilization of the pelvis and lower limb fractures. It is equipped with a unique splint for lower limb extension that eliminates overriding of fracture fragments and prevents a repeated pain shock during injured person transportation.
An integrated soft stretcher makes it possible to evacuate victims from narrow spaces (mines, goafs).
Field usage results show that the anti-shock suit reduces the fatal injury/combat wound rate by 1.5-2 times.
The KASHTAN has the following features:
It takes 3-5 min to put the Kashtan anti-shock suit on a victim.
It is the only mean for temporal arrest of intra-abdominal hemorrhage.
It fixes fractures softly and draws the lower limbs with the draw force control.
It provides for 1,5-2 liter patient's blood autotransfusion to the vital organs (anti-shock effect)
It extends the time reserve for victim's transportation and preparation to the surgery up to 6 hours.
