The FOREL immersion suit is designed to isolate a man from aquatic environment and provide for positive buoyancy to stay afloat.
The immersion suit has topping-up valves for floatation means and the waterproof garment, a locator electric light, transportation loops to lift up a survivor (or a rescuer with a survivor) from the water surface.
The reserve of positive buoyancy, with floatation means inflated, is not less than 30 kg.
The survival time (provided the survivor wears woolen and thermal-protection garments under the immersion suit) is at least 12 hours at the water temperature above minus 1 C and the air temperature above minus 10 C.
The immersion suit weight does not exceed 2.9 kg.
The FOREL immersion suits are manufactured in nine sizes for the personnel within the stature range of 164 - 182 cm and chest circumference range of 96-112 cm. It is possible to manufacture immersion suits in accordance with personal measurements.
