Modular fire extinguishing system for protection of complex production facilities

Fire extinguishers with the capacities of 20, 35 and 70 liters and the operating pressure of 150 kgf/cm2 have high reliability characteristics and the 25-year life. A fire extinguisher may have several (up to 7) cartridge-actuated valves to provide for targeted extinguishant supply in any of protected rooms; The fire-extinguishant is a water solution of salts and passivating additives, which improve fire-extinguishing efficiency of water and expand the operation temperature range as low as minus 45oС, The solution retains water advantages: availability, non-toxicity, environmental friendliness and high heat capacity. It has low corrosion activity and is chemically stable. Its service life can be compared with that of a fire extinguisher.

The Water Mist fire extinguishing medium is created by fire-extinguishant atomization through sprinklers having shaped passages, in which fine drops are produced by separate jets' collision at selected angles and by aerodynamic crushing.

Use of high-pressure pulsed automatic systems, that extinguish fire with atomized water, makes it possible:
- to use the environment-friendly water-based fire-extinguishant;
- to reduce considerably the amount of metal in fire-extinguishing systems;
- to increase the operating life of the system up to 25 years followed by overhaul-period renewal depending on the technical condition of the system;
- to decrease investment costs and reduce operation costs considerably.

The shut-off/starting device

(working as a check valve) prevents fire-extinguishant leakage and provides for reliable actuation (no less than 10 times) during a 25-year operating life.

The fire-extinguishant atomizers

produce the polydisperse high-energy jet of atomized water, which provides for fire fighting over both a single area and the whole volume of the compartment under protection.

The equipment provides for usage of current and advanced fire-extinguishants
including chladones, carbon dioxide and ozone-friendly chladones.
