On 19 October the launch vehicle Soyuz-FG with the manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz MS-02 was launched from Site № 31 of the Baikonur Space Center. The spacecraft carries  onboard the crew consisting of Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergei Ryzhikov, Roscosmos  cosmonaut Andrei  Borisenko  and NASA astronaut Robert Shane Kimbrough.

On 21 October the manned Soyuz MS-02 successfully docked to Russian ISS module Poisk.

According to the program the spacecraft Soyuz MS-02 used a classic 34-orbit rendezvous capability.  

On 5  October the review of emergency preparedness rescue units of civil defense was held at JSC "Zvezda" within the framework of civil defense training on the topic  "Organization of implementation of civil defense in conditions of large-scale emergency situations of natural and man-made disasters on the territory of Russian Federation ".

JSC "Zvezda" took part in the annual competition "Aircraft builder of year".  "Zvezda " won in the nomination "For achievements in the creation of systems and sets for the aircraft industry" for the year 2015.

The ceremony of awarding winners and prize-winners was held on 29 September.

Founders of the contest are  Union of Aviation Industrialists of Russia, United Aircraft Corporation, JSC "Russian Helicopters" , United Engine Corporation, Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute,  JSC "Technodinamika".

On 2 October 2016 JSC "Zvezda" is celebrating the 64th anniversary of its founding.The priority of our country in a number of aerospace engineering areas  was provided thanks to the work of  scientists, designers, testers and workers of "Zvezda".

From June 2016 till January 2017 a new exhibition "Space: the Birth of a New Era" is held in Pavilion № 1 (Central) at VDNH. It is a continuation of the project  "Cosmonauts: Birth of the Space Age", which made a splash last year in the UK.

On 22 September within the educational program General Director - Chief Designer  of JSC "Zvezda"  Pozdnyakov S.S. gave the lecture on the topic "About spacesuits and not only...".
